Southwest Regional Learning Center

The Minnesota Child Welfare Training Academy (MNCWTA) Southwest Regional Learning Center is located on the Southwest Minnesota State University (SMSU) campus in Marshall.

Learners should park in Lots B1, B2 or B3, and enter through the Individualized Learning (IL) Center doors. A campus map is located here. The training room is IL 138.

This location is currently being remodeled, and should be completed summer 2022. If you register for an in-person training at this site, specific classroom and parking information will be emailed to you a few days prior to your training.

The Tribal Training and Certification Partnership (TTCP) provides ICWA/MIFPA training at this learning center.

Guests Who Are Nursing

SMSU has two private location rooms that offer quiet spaces to nurse or pump throughout the weekday. These spaces are available to all who identify as women.

  • Bellow’s Academic 249 Available Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. This room provides a lockable door, a comfortable chair and table, a small refrigerator to store pumping equipment during the day.
  • Student Center 231 (Women’s Center) Available Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. This room provides a lockable door, a comfortable chair and table and a small refrigerator. A kitchenette with sink and small refrigerator is available within the Women’s Center.
