Foster Parent College Site

Unlimited Access to Learning Resources

Through its expanded partnership with Foster Parent College, the Minnesota Department of Human Services is proud to offer its families, counties and tribes the entirety of the Foster Parent College catalog at no cost. This unlimited access offers more than 70 eLearning modules located on the FPC website. If you need assistance with access to the Foster Parent College site, please contact us. 

Preservice Training

The Foster Parent College (FPC) Preservice Training consists of four meetings. When provided virtually, the training consists of 4 two-hour video calls with assignments to be completed prior to the next session. Training include 10 online modules available in English and Spanish. Agencies can choose to have the training be delivered by an Academy Trainer via a pre-scheduled cohort or have a member of their own team deliver the content. 

When offered virtually, the coursework is supplemented with online learning elements using the University of Minnesota's Learning Management System, Canvas. This site and the Canvas learning platform are fully managed by the Minnesota Child Welfare Training Academy.
