Training Portal is now available!

After years of planning and numerous individuals helping with the development, design, and launch, we are excited to report that the Training Portal is now available to child welfare professionals throughout Minnesota. You can always find the Training Portal Log In page in the top-right navigation of our website: www.mnchildwelfaretraining.com.

During the week of January 10, we invited supervisors and tribal leaders to set up their Training Portal accounts. This week, we asked supervisors and tribal leaders to begin inviting workers to create their Training Portal accounts. We also included this short video to provide step-by-step instructions for supervisors to invite their workers to create an account, as well as how to assign trainings.

Linking supervisors and employees is an important feature of this new system. Supervisors can now assign Foundations (New Worker) training to new workers as soon as they start. Supervisors and workers can follow training progress in real time. Completed trainings will stay connected with your account, so you can revisit resources and training materials for one year; in addition, trainings will be directly accessible, providing everything you need (no more searching for emails with Zoom links).

The next few months will still offer a few challenges, as accounts continue to be created and as we move TrainLink trainings over into the Training Portal. If you have any questions or concerns along the way, just let us know.

As we work to launch the Training Portal and move all of our courses over from TrainLink, you will continue to see some duplication. Soon the offerings in TrainLink will all be available in our Training Catalog. If you have registered for one of our upcoming trainings in TrainLink (Sexually Exploited Youth Overview and/or Response, Legal Practice Skills, Domestic Violence Co-Occurrence, FGDM Orientation/Facilitator, or Advanced Practical Training - Collaborative Safety), we will contact you as soon as each course has transitioned; you will need to register through our system, but we will hold your spot so you will not miss out.

Please encourage your staff and colleagues to join our mailing list, which can be found at the bottom of our website. We do our best to only send out information, trainings, and resources relevant to those in Minnesota working in child welfare and/or child protection. If you are a supervisor or tribal leader, and believe you are not receiving mailings specific to you, please let us know at info@mnchildwelfaretraining.com.

In-Person Training
All training provided by MNCWTA will continue online at least through March 2022. Decisions are being made on a month-by-month basis to ensure the safety of our learners and trainers.

Pathway to Autism Services and Supports Webinar
This virtual webinar on January 27 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. focuses on the range of services and supports available to a person with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related conditions across Minnesota’s systems of support. Audiences include advocates, behavioral health providers, caregivers, clinicians, educators, families, lead agencies, managed care organizations, mental health professionals, occupational therapists, other stakeholders, self-advocates, speech and language pathologists, and Tribal nations. DHS staff will share information about resources to help coordinate services across teams and systems; how to access Medical Assistance and supports; and how to navigate the Minnesota Autism Resource Portal website. SSIS Mentor Coffee Talk: SSIS Tips, Tricks, and Issues
Join Eric Kratt, SSIS Training Lead, and the SSIS Business Operations team at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 25, as they discuss tips, tricks, and issues in SSIS. Topics include display issues, Horizon versions, ORA Error 12154, security and reports, and more. Registration is required and will be open until one hour prior to the event. This session will be recorded and posted for future reference.

Registration is through TrainLink and closes two days before the class start date. New workers who have not attended a class through TrainLink must first register for a unique key. To find the SSIS Fiscal New Worker Training courses from TrainLink, select Children’s Services from the list of Leaning Centers, click the Class Schedule, and search under the category All SSIS Classes. When you find the class date you wish to register for, click Enroll in this class or Join the Waitlist if the class is full. Trainees will receive additional information one week prior to training, including handouts and the virtual classroom registration link.
